Privacy Policy
In short
At Markov, privacy is an engineering priority. We collect only what is strictly necessary to authenticate your account and sync your preferences. We run zero tracking cookies, sell no personal data, and serve zero ads.
1. Information we collect
We believe in radical data minimization. We collect information only in the following contexts:
- Account registration: When you create an account, we store your email address, a salted cryptographic hash of your password, and single-use recovery code hashes. We never store plaintext passwords.
- Trading preferences & state sync: Saved chart layouts, alert configurations, drawing objects, and active workspace settings synchronized across your devices.
- Waitlist & script access: If you request early access or proprietary TradingView scripts, we record your email address and your specified TradingView username.
- Technical logs & rate limiting: When connecting to our edge infrastructure, request IP addresses and browser user-agents are processed temporarily in memory to prevent abuse, enforce DDoS mitigation, and apply rate limits.
2. Zero tracking cookies, ads or analytics scripts
Markov does not use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, PostHog, or third-party marketing trackers. We do not set persistent third-party tracking cookies. All typography (Geist and Geist Mono) is self-hosted directly from our edge network, preventing third-party font tracking.
3. Where and how data is stored
Markov operates on Cloudflare’s global edge infrastructure. User account records and synchronized workspace preferences are stored in Cloudflare D1 relational databases and Workers KV with enterprise-grade encryption at rest and in transit (TLS 1.3).
4. Local client storage
When you use the free tools without an account, your preferred symbol, timeframe, active layers, and theme are saved locally on your own device via your browser’s localStorage. This data never touches our servers unless you explicitly log in to sync state across devices. You can clear this data at any time via your browser settings.
5. Third-party data providers & payments
To display real-time orderbooks, candles, and liquidations, your browser communicates directly with third-party cryptocurrency and financial data venues (such as Hyperliquid, Binance, and CoinGecko). When your browser connects to these services, your IP address is visible to them under their respective privacy policies.
Subscription billing and payment checkout are securely facilitated by authorized merchant partners (such as Dodo Payments and Gumroad). Markov never sees or stores full credit card numbers or sensitive banking details; our servers receive only a tokenized customer ID and entitlement confirmation.
6. Your rights (GDPR, CCPA & global privacy)
Regardless of your geographic location, Markov respects your rights to:
- Request a copy of all personal data held about your account;
- Request rectification of any inaccurate information;
- Request complete deletion (“Right to be Forgotten”) of your account and synchronized data;
- Export your workspace settings, drawings, and alerts in standard JSON format.
To exercise any of these rights, email us at [email protected]. Requests are honored promptly and free of charge.
7. Children’s privacy
Markov is strictly intended for individuals aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from anyone under 18 years of age.
